Captain Phillips: Prepare to be hooked Based on a real event, "Captain Phillips" is the story of the Maersk Alabama is invaded by four Somalian pirates, played by Barkhad Abdi, Faysal Ahmed, Mahat M. Ali, and Barkhad Abdirahman. Captain Richard Phillips, played by Tom Hanks, notices a small boat of armed pirates. After a strong attempt of trying to get away, the pirates eventually catch up to them. As the pirates climb aboard the cargo ship, the crew hides in the engine room and Captain Phillips tries to make a deal with the pirates in order to keep everyone alive. The pirates turn down the offer and refuse to leave the ship without taking Captain Phillips. The four pirates and captain get in a lifeboat and go towards Somalia. After days of travel in the cramped life boat with little water and food, a U.S. Navy ship arrives and attempts to negotiate with the pirates, in exchange for the captain.
