CE #6.1

1. 1,400
2. The weakening of metal from repeated use.
3. $5,000 pay raise for all teachers, cost of living adjustments for retirees, higher contributions to teachers' health insurance, creation of full day kindergarten
4. He played nine positions in a Longhorn baseball game.
5. The City Theatre's 'As You Like It': I would want to see this because we just read Shakespeare in English and it would be interesting to see a Shakespeare play.

Long Response:
In 2016, 52% or Texas high school graduates directly enrolled in college. In order for the state to meet it's goals, in 2030, there should be a 65% rate of high school graduates directly enrolling in college. According to the article, students who do not directly enroll into college after graduated are less likely to earn a degree. Massachusetts at 70% and California at 60% both have a higher percentage of students enrolling directly after high school than Texas. Under Raymund Paredes' plan to increase the rate of direct college enrollment, colleges would earn up to $1,000 for each student that graduates. I think college can be extremely important for some students, but less important for students who want to pursue a career that may not require a college education. I plan to enroll directly into college. The push to get more students to enroll directly into college will affect certain professions by creating better and more educated workers. I think it is possible to have a comfortable life without a college degree depending on what your job and interests are. Most jobs are important in some way and affect society whether it requires a college degree or not. I haven't considered jobs that wouldn't require a college degree because all of the professions I am interested in, I would have to go to college.
