A. In the journalism world, there are guidelines and rules about editing and manipulating photos. There are strict rules now, but it was common to completely change a photo or add new components into a photo to make it look different, and sometimes it would look very normal and like it hadn't been edited at all. Even some of the most popular magazines like National Geographic and Time have done this to their photos. B. Photographers for The New York Times and the Washington Post have strict rules about what they can't do to make their photos look better. They cannot alter the color of the original photo. They also have to turn in their original and final copies of their pictures. C. I think it is acceptable to make the picture brighter or make it easier to see, but if it changes the color completely it crosses the line of the being ethical. Now that social media has become so popular, child actors can easily be sexualized and people can make comments that are inappropriate for how young they are. The problem with being a child actor is that with the help of the internet, they are treated as adults and constantly criticized by people. Simpicity The simplicity is this picture makes it more dramatic because it focuses on one one subject which is the man jumping. There is not a distracting background that takes away from the main subject. Rule of Thirds This shows the rule of thirds and it makes the photo more interesting. The positioning of the firefighters makes in more interesting than it would be if they were in the middle. Lines The lines on the street draw your attention to the sign at the top. The lines lead tot he main subject of the photo, which it the sign.  Balance The Twin Towers and the Empire State Building balance each other out and make the picture more interesting instead of just having one of them in the picture with a blank background.  Framing The people on the ground and the building on the right frames the building in the middle. It helps you understand whats going on outside of the main focus and brings your attention to the middle of the photo.

This photo is important because it shows the violence and protests this year. Even with protesters carrying signs promoting peace, love, and unity, there is and act of violence.
