Composition

Simpicity

The simplicity is this picture makes it more dramatic because it focuses on one one subject which is the man jumping. There is not a distracting background that takes away from the main subject.


Rule of Thirds

This shows the rule of thirds and it makes the photo more interesting. The positioning of the firefighters makes in more interesting than it would be if they were in the middle.


Lines

The lines on the street draw your attention to the sign at the top. The lines lead tot he main subject of the photo, which it the sign. 




Balance

The Twin Towers and the Empire State Building balance each other out and make the picture more interesting instead of just having one of them in the picture with a blank background. 




Framing

The people on the ground and the building on the right frames the building in the middle. It helps you understand whats going on outside of the main focus and brings your attention to the middle of the photo. 


Merging

The shadow on the building and the woman's black clothes merge together and make it confusing to look at and it is not clear. 


Symmetry and Patterns

The symmetry of the two towers balances the photo and the smoke and flames breaks the symmetry and makes the photo more interesting to look at.



Viewpoint


The angles this photo was taken from makes it more dramatic because you can see the people's expressions and also what is going on behind them.



Depth

The photo shows depth by including the background of the city and making it seem more three-dimensional than what a photo of just the top of the building would be.




Cropping

The way this photo was cropped makes the subject, the man falling more focused. If there was a busy background or something else happening, it would make the photo look busy and distract from the main subject.
