1. My favorite front page is The New York Times because they have a good balance of words and graphics and it is simple and easy to look at. 2. "Educators Face Daunting Role: Student Shield". I am interested in this one the most because it is about what most people are interested in right now. 3. 6 4. In all of them, there are a few pictures and the every story has a large headline. 5. The fonts of every newspaper changes and some headlines are larger than others.

Diversity Long Response A company called "Yondr" is making cell phone pouches. These cell phone pouches are now being used by over 600 high school in America. The concept of the Yondr pouches is that you can lock your phone away for an amount of time or when you're at a certain event so you can eventually become less addicted to your phone. At San Lorenzo HS, the pouches have resulted in higher grades and the students have less discipline problems. I think these pouches would be useful for when you are doing homework or when you are trying to focus on something and you have no use for your phone at the time. I think the pouches would be useful sometimes, but they could become an inconvenience when you actually need your phone. I think if Bowie started using these, students would become more focused on their schoolwork,

Long Response: The World Health Organization is now classifying video gaming addiction as a disorder. Video games are especially affecting younger people with developing brains which is why it is very serious. When people start playing video games at a young age, it is harder for them to stop and it can turn into an addiction. Indications of having the disorder are the disability to quit playing, gaming so much that it takes over your other daily activities, and continuing to play even with negative consequences. According to the article, an addiction is having a compulsion to do something. "Baby Emilie was 9 minutes old when Thierry Bouët photographed her for a series on babies in the first hour of their lives. New York used the photo—along with a fresh and fun type treatment—to great effect in its amusing, and affecting, “Health”-issue cover." I chose this as my favorite magazine cover because it is very eye catching. Many of the other covers were adults posing in a formal setting, but I have never seen a magazine cover like this. I also like how much of the cover the baby's face takes up. I think the way it fills the frame makes it more effective. The words coming out of its mouth is very creative and interesting. I like how the cover overall is simple and there aren't too many different colors and elements. If I walked past this magazine I would defiantly look at this one first.

Environmental Portraits I like this portrait because it doesn't look posed and you can tell what the woman's life and job is.   I like this photo because it is interesting to look at and the contrasting colors look good. Self Portrait I like this self portrait because of the way he uses the mirror. I think this photo is interesting because of the shadows on the wall. Casual Portrait I chose this picture because the angle of the picture is different and interesting. I like this portrait because the background is simple, but not just a plain wall and I like the pop of color from the plant. I will take both of my portraits of my two friends around my neighborhood and in the greenbelt behind my house.
