At 4:45, three Austin citizens were involved in a car accident at the intersection of First Street and Slaughter Lane.      "I've never seen anything like this happen before," witness, Tim McCarthy said. "It happened so quickly and it was very unexpected."      Roger Clementine, 13, was speeding and driving in the wrong lane when his car collided with Melba, 67, and John Jacob Jingleheimer-Smith's car going 10 miles per hour.      "I was just trying to get to my friends house," Clementine said. " I have driven many times before, but I have never been in an accident. I think I'm a pretty good driver."      An ambulance arrived 10 minutes after the accident and all three people were taken to the hospital. Clementine had minor cuts on his face, Melba had a bloody nose, and John suffered from a  head injury and is in serious condition as of now.      "I am glad I only suffered from a bloody nose," Melba said. Mason Long Response: Before I read this story I heard about the drama around the NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. NFL players should not have to stand during the national anthem because by kneeling, they are not harming anyone and it is a way of peacefully protesting. I think that it is ok for NFL players to stay in the locker room during the anthem because it is a way of recognizing the fact that our country has problems, but I don't see it as disrespectful in any way. I don't think President Trump should have taken it this far and go after this subject on twitter because there are much more important things than this, like the disasters in Puerto Rico and Mexico that he hasn't given much attention to at all. The topic of race also has a lot to do with t

It took four days before they finally landed on the moon. Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon on July 20, and did experiments took samples, and put a flag on the moon. I think this is one of the most important news stories in the 1900's because it was the first time anyone ever walked on the moon. Many people were shocked when this happened because not long before that, it seemed impossible. This day in changed history and gave us new information about space. 1. 7,ooo 2. Because it helps people the most, and a social worker held his mother's hand as she passed away. 3. 11p. m.-6 a.m. 4. $2,000 5. "The Deuce" Long Response: It is interesting that President Trump made a deal without the support of his party leaders, because he made the deal with Democratic leaders, which he usually doesn't do. I think Mr. Trump was motivated by the many other Democratic opinions, and he wanted to please the other party. I think the Republican GOP leaders may feel betrayed by President Trump and his actions because he has sided with the Democratic side. I think the U.S. will benefit from this decision, because he usually only makes deals that Republicans agree with, so his attempt to reach "across the aisle" will make the opposing party happy.
